Please Help! Burberry Colour Dye Transfer Staining

Hi everyone! I just noticed this massive staining all over the back of my Burberry Pochette after wearing it this weekend! :sad: I was wearing a black dress so I'm sure that the dye from my dress rubbed off onto the back of the bag. :sad: This is almost 24 hours later and I only just noticed this now. I've already tried using baby wipes, hand sanitizer, soap and water, and none of them have worked. Even the corners are darkened. Please help!!!

Oh no
Can you try a clean white rubber or a kneaded eraser gently? Maybe in the corner first? I never tried it but read it online so please use caution when you try.
Alchol (like rubbing alcohol) can sometimes remove ink stains but i dont know if it can damage the bag.
Again if you try go slow, try in a hidden area .
Some tricks might take a few tries . Better to go slow than remove the bag color.

I think a kneaded eraser would help, especially since your bag has a lot of pebbled texture.
But start off in one spot just to try and go gentle before you know you can put more pressure.

What you may need is your bag to be washed, like with one of those round bristle brushes with soap in a circular motion in order to get into all that texture. However I have absolutely no experience with washing bags; just seen it on YouTube.
If you’re hesitant about washing the bag yourself, may just be best to go to a reputable bag spa service/business.

Thank you for commenting and for sharing your suggestion! I just gave the white eraser a try, it doesn't seem to be doing anything and I'm a bit nervous of rubbing it harder. It was worth trying though!

In the meantime, I've also tried nail polish remover because there's acetone in it, but it didn't seem to remove it either. If anything, it seems to lift the shine, so I won't be doing anymore of that.

I've used rubbing alcohol on a black nylon bag to remove a stain, and it actually left that part of the bag lighter, so I'm really wary of rubbing alcohol now. It also didn't show up like that right away, so it's good to be overly cautious of rubbing alcohol.

I may run to the store and see if I can pick up a new eraser, maybe it'll work better! It's the least corrosive of all the methods, so that would be ideal. Thank you so much again. :heart:

I'm going to try this out! I'll pick one up from the store. Hopefully it'll have a bit of luck, I think with it being kneaded it may be able to get into the grooves more, yes.

I've seen a couple of videos like what you mentioned and it seems like people have used Kiwi Quick Dry Shoe Cleaner Spray. I would stop and take it to a professional specialist bc anything you do at this point could possibly drive the dye stains further into the textile. (For example, a mr. Clean magic eraser has to be moistened to activate the cleanser, and water may not be the best idea IDK. If the specialist cannot help, you can always resume your process. Good luck and pls keep us posted.

Thanks! Yes, I'm kind of ware of the magic eraser...I've heard stories of it going either way. I used water and soap but it didn't do anything and don't want to try more water. I actually brought my bag into the Burberry store to ask for advice and the SA said to try baby wipes, and if that didn't work (which it didn't), she didn't want to advise anything else. I may bring it to a leather cleaner...or a specialist...but for now I've got Kiwi Instant Cleaning wipes so I will give that a try for now on just the corner. I'll let you know! Thanks for the advice.
