Please help authentic this 1980's Gucci duffle bag.

This is a 1980's Gucci duffle bag that was purchased by my Father-in-law either in Chicago, California or Rome. I have two. It looks authentic and my father-in-law only shopped at high-end stores... The inside lining is glued to the bag, which makes me wonder if it is fake. Would be grateful for some help.
