All,

I turn 30 at the start of March and have been asked to choose something ‘special’ for my birthday. I think jewellery is a safe choice but I’m just not sure what to go for! I’m hoping you might be able to give me some ideas and inspiration please?

I have the following:-

1. Cartier YG love cuff (LOVE and wear daily). My only YG item.
2. Tag Heuer Aquaracer SS ladies watch (18th birthday present which I still enjoy wearing! I would love a Rolex but stock/ availability issues make this less desirable, and I still enjoy wearing the Tag watch. May eventually like a bigger watch - 31 or 36mm steel datejust or OP).
3. 3ct diamond tennis bracelet in WG (wear this whenever I go out next to the love bracelet)
4. Diamond stud earrings in Platinum (LOVE and wear daily) - don’t feel I need more earrings as I’m quite content with one pair!
5. Diamond solitaire pendant in Platinum (wear when I go out but not as frequently as my other items)

Wonder if I should ask for a bracelet for stacking or a different style pendant. Up to or just over £2,000.

What do you think please?

Many thanks!

First of all, congratulations on your milestone birthday!  I too got a special gift for my 30th bday! I'm still in my 30s but I've found the 30s to be the best time of my life so far!

You have a pretty solid core collection so far. Very versatile and timeless!

From #4 and #5, as you've said, you're good with earrings, and it seems like you don't wear necklaces often?

Are there any specific brands that you're drawn to? What kind of style do you have? (minimalistic, edgy, feminine, etc.)
Do you like color in your jewelry?

Thank you so much! I certainly hope so!!

I am drawn to Cartier jewellery because I love the minimal and timeless designs. I’m definitely a minimal, classic and often casual dresser! Generally favour white gold but the YG love cuff just spoke to me ! Not so keen on gemstones/ colours in my jewellery but blue is my favourite colour! Thank you

Are you interested in a ring?

I find that the love, maillon panthere wedding band, and trinity rings to be quite clean and timeless.

The JUC ring is nice (I have one) but it is a bit of an acquired taste since you may need to get used to the interesting shape. (Sometimes people find it uncomfortable).

If you’re thinking of a different style pendant, I love the multi-shape diamond bar. I just got one last year and wear it almost daily - it’s subtle enough for work, sparkly enough for dinner out. Also layers nicely with a solitaire or other necklaces. I had mine custom made because I wanted to include certain shaped diamonds, but Material Good sells a similar style for very much under your budget

Eg here. https://materialgood.com/products/multi-shape-bar-pendant

Thank you for your suggestions!

@Louish @lill_canele I had a small love ring several years ago and found that uncomfortable! Think I ought to steer clear of rings although I love the look of the JUC ring.

I went into Cartier earlier this week and tried on a couple of bracelets for ideas - what do you think please? I’m wondering whether a little chain bracelet might work, or even a Cartier legers necklace (might wear that more than my platinum diamond solitaire pendant?!)

This would be my choice and in your budget. It is a DeBeers company that sells lab grown diamonds, which are real diamonds.

Are you okay with putting on chain bracelets? Personally I am terrible at putting those kinds of bracelets on myself so I find them a pain to put on.
But if that isn’t an issue for you, if you are more keen on getting a Cartier bracelet, between the 2 I think the 1st is more “worth it”, it is unmistakably a Cartier piece while a diamond solitaire bracelet is something you can find at any brand (And probably a much better price point).
