Hi everyone. Sorry for the long heading but I only have 12 more hours, because even though this is important the sudden health decline of our fave pet took precedence over the last two days, and now I have to make a quick decision. I want a weightless leather bag to wear crossbody on vacation after a knee injury. I found two tempting little bags, but since I’m usually a big bag girl, I will only get one, as I might not use it a lot after I’m fully healed. Both are in mint condition. Since I’ve seen neither IRL I just don’t know. Can you just tell me your opinion, please. I like that the Mini Aline is a current bag, but I do like the Mini Evie appeal of the Clou de Selle. Thank you. I hope this finds you all well!

Since both are in mint condition, my recommendation is to go with what appeals to you more. In this case, the Clou de Selle. I personally am a mini Aline person and have found it to fit everything I need (it was also purchased pre-loved). Good luck with your recovery!

Hi , Thank you. I’m almost healed, I just shouldn’t lug around the bigger heavy bags (since I fill those up, too). I’m 4 ft 10 and very slight, so a heavy bag is honestly a handful even when completely fine - nothing the hubby should ever read.

Glad to hear you are almost healed and following doctor's orders (I am assuming this is where the "shouldn't lug around the bigger heavy bags" came from). Sounds like your hubby cares for you from the way you wrote that last sentence.

I am also sorry about your beloved pet.

The hubby is the best there is, as is the pet, and the latter isn’t a lost cause yet. We’ve had the vet over the 4th time in two weeks , and she thinks he’s gonna be fine - much too stubborn to give in. His youngish age works in his favor apparently . I hope she’s right. His health has never been the best, but up til now it was only a matter of high vet bills, but it’s been touch and go this time.

Firstly,
I have missed your posts.
Secondly I'm so sorry to hear about your knee and your beloved pet-I wish both swift healing.
I would go for the Clou De Selle.
You dont mention if they are the same colour but I think the clou de selle is a little more unusual somehow.
Hi. Thx so much for the kind words. The two bags are not the same color. The CDS is Crevette, a coral color, the Aline is Bleu Brume, an almost white water blue. I like both, since I have neither In my collection. And both fit the summer vibe theme in their own way. I don’t usually have such a hard time deciding, especially since they both aren’t really expensive.

Totally forgot to ask if they were the same color or not! No wonder you're having a tough time, they are 2 different colors with different feelings. Do both colors go with your existing wardrobe? Or is there one that you would reach for more open because it works better color wise?

Nope, I’m a platinum blonde with very fair skin, so both coral and light blue are easy matches. My wardrobe is diverse, especially in the warmer months when I only wear dresses. All of those don’t help me decide. Lol, at least the bag style is somewhat similar as both are small leather crossbody bags;)

Yes, at least they are both small leather crossbodies! I do find the crevette to have a fruity summertime lusciousness...and I'm not normally into coral colors.

Ok, in super tough situations like this, the recommendation is to buy both. Seriously lol.

I know right;) ah, if all else fails, I can always roll a dice. I could have done more research, but there was so much going on and now I’m running out of time. Judging by the little googling I did tonight, there is next to nothing on the Clou de Selle here, or on Insta/YouTube.

Good morning. Just to round this up, I just ordered the light blue Aline. But there’s Mother’s Day around the corner, so maybe this really just was one of two. Thank you for your quick, informative and entertaining responses!! I should be on the site more again. (Post pandemic there’s always something that keeps me away from the internet).
I hope you do buy them both.
I think they will both find a place in your wardrobe.
Tbh I weirdly find it harder to make a decision about inexpensive items than I do Big-Ticket..
Sad but true!

Sorry to hear about that. Hope everything gets better soon. I have an Aline. Love it. So obviously, I'd go for an Aline. Used it in my most recent travel to Europe whenever I needed a more compact/smaller bag.

I’m so sorry about your knee and your beloved pet. Re the bags, perhaps @diane278 can comment. I believe she might have experience with both. Personally I think you could use either, but I prefer blue tones. I hope that you are recovered enough to enjoy your vacation :)
