Hi all,

I've got a vosges MM whose zipper I broke - I had basically one of those ziploc bags in it, and it got completely stuck in the zipper when I opened it, I managed to break off the outside bits of the plastic and push that zipper all the way to one end of the bag, but inside it got stuffed full of the plastic bits and is now stuck there. In the process of trying to fix it I pried things too hard and a little bit of the metal outside (the end of the zipper catch) is chipped off now. Photos attached, a little hard to see I know...

I want to know if anyone thinks LV can repair this? I don’t mean for free! Very willing to pay for it. Just want to ask if anyone is knowledgeable and know if it’s a fairly straight forward case of taking it in and ask for a repair. I should maybe also mention that I didn’t buy this bag in the country I live in.

Thanks in advance!

so I had the same issue. I posted on here. I got it out. I can't recall if it was from info I got on this board or google search. I will look for the thread. If I find it I'll post. It was about a year ago. Let me look because I can't recall what I did but I did get it all out myself.

hope you can get it all out and maybe it will still work without taking it in. :hugs: unless you want to take it in. Then I bet it's fixable.

I would try to get some plastic out of the zipper with tweezers.

LV can always replace part of or the entire zipper for a charge.

Yes I had the same problem but they charged me for it.

I think if you work on it a little more you can get the plastic out and avoid having to have the zipper replaced, but yes, they could replace the entire zipper for a fee.

A huge thank you to everyone who replied! I was like doh of course they do zipper replacements, I don't know why I didn't remember that. So I tried a little with tweezers and got a little bit more plastic out but didn't change the situation too much, and didn't see the needle trick before I was on my way to the store. In any case I decided I'd like the chipped end piece replaced so I went in and asked. They don't have a record of me purchasing it since it's bought on an overseas trip (I believe summer 2017 in Seoul) but maybe because I have an established record with this store now, they didn't have trouble saying they can send it in for a repair. The manager also came by and took a look, and said he has known this kind of stuff to happen and it is possible to get it out without a repair (he started jiggling the zipper a little so I think he definitely knows)! In the end, he instructed the SA to input "please assess the situation" on their form, and told me that what will happen is if they can fix the zipper part (get the plastic out) and not replace it, they will only charge me to replace the little chipped end piece. If they have to replace everything, it will be $180 for a whole placement. Otherwise it will be less. I thought that was fine and had them take it in. I will see what happens!

Thank you again to everyone *internet hug*

Today I went in to pick up this bag and thought I will post a quick update here, even though probably nobody needs it (sorry)! So the zipper is completely repaired.

The real good news though is I was very pleasantly surprised when they told me there is no charge! I thought that even if the stuck plastic part is free the replacement of the chipped end piece will at least be a little change - but nope! I was told “I got some good news for you” by the lovely SA as I pulled out my wallet

Definitely a nice experience for me. Thank you again to everyone who helped in this thread
