Hi. I’ve been away for awhile but I’m back. I bought a bag organizer for my DE Speedy 30 to help keep its shape, but I’m noticing my piping has a couple of scuffs. I’m wondering if I should just put up with a saggy Speedy to save the piping? Thank you.

I assume you mean an organizer that sits inside the bag? I'm not sure how that'd affect the piping on the outside. I suppose it might make it more prominent and so more prone to hitting things, but bags with corners like that are pretty prone to getting corner wear regardless.

I don't know how that would affect the piping. I have noticed some minor marks on my DE Keepall (nearly ten years old and well used) but most of the time, if I wipe with an alcohol-free baby wipe, it will come off. I think it's probably hard to avoid some light wear to the corners of the bag over time, but as the above poster said if it becomes an issue for you, you can have it replaced for a fee.

I took the organizer out and put it in a Longchamp. I decided to use multiple pouches as opposed to an organizer for the Speedy. Years ago I had a base shaper in a different Speedy and the piping came through. I was able to get that one repaired. I am not the original owner of this Speedy and from past experiences with LV they won’t repair if I’m not the original owner. So I’m trying to be careful.

I haven't had LV ask for a receipt when doing my repairs? I read somewhere in the forum that you don't need to be the original owner. The bag just needs to be authentic. I could be wrong and hope someone chimes in to clarify.

I tried about 3 years ago to get 2 Speedys repaired and got nowhere. So I sold them and switched to Coach. But LV has always been my favorite. I’ve bought directly from LV and pre-owned for over 20 years. I bought this DE Speedy 30 pre-owned because it’s never in stock. This one is 15 years old and in excellent condition. Has the rubbing on the corners and small stain on the interior. You need to magnify the rubbing to see it.

Thank you. It is beautiful. I was just concerned about piping poking through. The scuffs don’t bother me, otherwise, because you can’t see them.
I got a mark like that on a bag 5 years ago when it was brand new the first week. Really annoying. I believe it was a concrete wall i rubbed it against. But the bag has been used a lot, and the mark is no bigger than it was 5 years ago. I use conditioner on it a few times per year.

I have had multiple bags that I bought preloved repaired at LV without any problems. I do have a nice SA so that may have helped but she was fully aware i am not the original owner. The repair work costs the same regardless of who initially bought the bag, so not sure why they would care honestly!

This is what I mentioned above. I've brought things to the store and also done it through the online service and have never been asked for a receipt. So I think if anyone wants to have a repair done on a preloved item, they should try it!
