Pink chanel medium flap - do I sell it now for the barbie movie hype?

I have a purse exactly like this one. It's a medium flap chanel, I bought it for the barbie movie release almost two years ago.

I am still a student so I'm a little broke, and if I can sell it for 10k CAD (7.5k USD), it would help me with like 6 months of rent. But on the other hand, if the hype is going to last a while, I want to hold onto the bag for long-term value. And I'll be making a lot of money in a year anyways, so I'm not too worried.

What do you ladies think? Is everyone going to forget about the barbie movie in a few months? Or should I try to sell it now? And what price would it be worth right now?

Without an image, I don’t know which bag you mean. I’m also not understanding a couple of things you’re saying about being broke but also earning a lot of money soon. Which movie released two years ago, are you talking about a different movie? Think of it the other way around if you love the bag keep it if you don’t love it, selll it ;)

If I could predict future, I would made a lot more money or could avoided losses, One thing for sure is, in order for Chanel classic bag especially high prices ones to sell the highest prices, you'd better never take stickers off the bag and never used it, that will ensure you make money but you still may sit on the bag for a year at least or you could get lucky someone pays 20% more right away buys from you.

from reading your post, I think you may not have that much money to sit on and wait, so probably a safe choice is to sell when price is good enough.

Well, if you're a poor student and you really don't need the pink Chanel and you can fetch good prices to pay off 6 months' rent, then I think you should sell it. It is prudent to pay rent than to hang on to a pink bag.

It's not like you're turning around to purchase another color or spend it on something frivolous.

I don't know if the hype will last, but I do know pink is hot right now. Mattel is thinking about another Barbie movie. So we might have have Barbie 2 in the makings.

If you don’t use the bag, you need money, do sell the bag.
I don’t think the pink hype would stay for too long. Personally I’m tired and annoyed of it already. When Valentino brought it up 2 years ago I was obsessed, now I’m definitely over it. And especially with the Barbie movie I’m extremely over it.
Im thinking after all that crazy bright pink period we’ll go back to the quiet earthy neutral colors. So it’s definitely now time to sell.

Are you not wanting to keep the bag in general and just waiting for the highest price? If so, I'd consider now, since Barbiecore is hot right now. However, if you love the bag and will be making a lot of money soon, I'd keep it, as long as you can still pay the rent.

It's not as though people who don't like pink will all of a sudden love pink because of a movie. You still need a buyer who loves pink. If you don't like it and think you can make back your money then sell it.
