Picture unload question..please

This my be a very stupid question ..but I seem to be having issues with uploading pics in a new thread..
I'm just trying to do one, and it keeps telling me its larger than the requirement.
I'm obviously not getting something...

my daughter showed me how to use www.tinypics.com

upload and then copy and paste the link for forums
