I'm going to be in the market for a Picotin, probably the largest size - MM? GM? Not sure what the availability is. The PM is probably too small. I need a neutral, either black or grey. Are the non-locking Picotins still available? What are the chances of me walking in to a Hermes store and leaving with one? My home store is Chicago.

TIA!

I am not sure how it is elsewhere but where I live the MM is kind of hard to find. PM sizes are more readily available. I also saw a new PM with the lock. The SA said it was the only one available. As far as GM, TPFers have said that it is discontinued and hard to find.

Good luck. I have an MM and I love her!!!

On Wall street there were several in both sizes in neutral colors. I kept seing them for a long time. If you ask for Jizelle or Dawn they would be happy to ship it to you.
Also Jizelle offered me to search thru database and found a couple of GM's across the country, she could request them, but I didn't like the color. Mind you, it was 4-5 weeks ago.
Madison Ave usually has a couple of PM/MM's on display.

^I was really hoping to be able to try one on before I buy...this would be the most expensive bag I've ever purchased so I really want to be sure.

Perhaps I'll have to do a search for a modeling thread...

You should just call the Chicago store and see what colors/sizes they have in stock (at least at the Madison store they had a bunch in the back last week...they had several colors including black and gray T). Go on in and try out the size... I was thinking about a GM but I tried on the MM and it was a perfect size and I love it:heart:

Hello, Giraffe, I have had an MM size and now have a PM.....this smallest size is great for me, because I actually use it as a little handbag with all the things a lady would carry when she's not carrying "extras" meaning...I carry a wallet, checkbook, small agenda, glasses case......cles.

The MM Picotin to me, was too big, but....from the posts I've seen I feel that most of the posters prefer this size for everyday use. You can carry much more in it.....

The MM looked good on me, but felt too large.....the PM looks great, but can be a little small if I want to carry more things inside.

Remembering my school days, the PM would be a great date bag, the MM an everyday beautiful workhorse size bag.....IMO:yes:

I tend to carry a lot in my bag - French purse/wallet, makeup bag, iPhone, gum, glasses case, sometimes a book for train rides. I may have to make a stop in the store and see what they have. Thanks ladies!

Here's what can fit in an MM (a lot) but after having the MM, I, like isus thinks it is a wee bit big (aesthetics wise). I do love the look of the PM--the size goes well with the overall look and feel of the bag. I am def. keeping my MM but may be in the market for a PM as well.

^Is that blue jean or brighton? It's pretty!

I don't know, I think I could go PM or MM - I'm used to large bags but maybe it's worth downsizing for some H...

Does blue jean go with a lot? I'm a jeans/hoodie type of gal on the weekends, I was leaning towards black/grey for a color but the blue jean is just so cheery!

I live in Jeans too. I am using her with jeans, browns, reds, blacks.

Haven't tried grey but I'll see how she looks with it and report back or post pics.

^Thanks! I was thinking perhaps black or etoupe leather would be a better choice for my wardrobe but if you can wear blue jean with multiple colors and fabrics...hmmm.

I'm also considering going with vert olive or white...too many choices!

I wanted Vert Olive as well, but couldn't find one and went with Blue Jean instead. I now have H bags in Orange, Lichen, and the BJ. I find that they are neutrals with a kick and add a great pop to a wardrobe. This is new to me as well. Before I was all about Black, Browns, and Jeans. Hermes color is very addicting.
