I originally asked my SA for a Picotin in Craie or Nata, but I recently tried on a Beton at FASHIONPHILE and it was absolutely stunning. I also fell in love with Vert Comics, such a fun and unexpected pop. The Beton is priced quite a bit over retail, which is why I didn’t go for it, but I can’t stop thinking about it. Now I’m torn…do I wait and hope my SA offers one in craie, beton or nata, or go for Vert Comics now… or maybe both? How hard is it to get a light neutral picotin from your SA. I have a good standing relationship with mine.

My Picotin 18 is in Rose Pourpre and I love the pop of colour. Having said that it’s not my daily carry. I love that green but a neutral is safer for everyday wear with any outfit.

I’ve always seen the Picotin as a fun, carefree bag, perfect for adding personality to an outfit. I currently have three in my collection: Anemone, Rose Sakura, and a Casaque (Rose Extreme/Rose Mexico/Rouge Coeur). Each one brings a different kind of joy and works beautifully depending on my mood or the occasion. For me, a “fun” bag often means a pop of colour, that is, something that lifts the whole look. But I completely understand the appeal of a light neutral, especially for more understated settings (my Rose Sakura is just that). A Picotin in Craie, Nata, or Beton can be just as special, offering versatility while still carrying that charming, relaxed Picotin spirit. If your SA relationship is strong, a light neutral may come around sooner than you think, as magen97 suggests! But there’s definitely room for both a vibrant and a neutral Picotin in a collection. So, can I be unhelpful and say: go for both!

Vert comics now. IMO, you should wait for your SA and try craie which I think is a warmer light neutral.

Completely agree with this. Also I have a Picotin 18 in Nata and adore her.

Agree with both! Light neutrals will always be available even if they take time, and they tend to stand the test of time. Seasonal bright colors can go up and down in desirability and resale value so you are more likely to get a good deal on it (eg stacking FP deals and coupons, etc)

I have a VC Picotin and I love how much it stands out when i wear neutrals! I tend to hesitate with the lighter colours because I am perpetually afraid of colour transfer (which has happened lol).
