Photographing amethysts?

Hi ladies,

this may be a strange question, but is it ok to photograph an amethyst with flash?

I heard that they would bleach out when exposed to light. I've photographed my amethyst necklace many times with flash and wonder if that will have any (long term) consequences?

you can photograph it a gazillion times, it will not do anything to the stone. i'm a gemologist and never heard such a thing, don't worry!
