I grew up watching Phil. May he RIP!
I really believe he walked so Oprah could run. RIP.
Any one else remember the show he did in the early 80s about AIDS? At the time there had been fewer than 1,000 diagnosed with a rare cancer. I was 13 when I watched it and I will always remember how compassionate he was. Whenever I think of him, that show always comes to mind. He was one of a kind.
His voice is the voice of my childhood.. lol my mom always had it on when I came home from school.
He and Johnny Carson actually retired when they retired, now the movie and tv stars want to hang on forever.
May he RIP. I always thought he was a gentleman and a genuinely curious and compassionate soul.
He set the bar high and no one really measured up as far as I am concerned.

I work for St. Jude and we’re all certainly mourning with her today.
Very sad news. I have such fond memories of both Phil and Marlo. RIP Phil.
