Hi, well the title says it all I suppose.
I have almost shoulder-length chestnut hair, am 5 ft 6 in and wear pants and pantsuits all the time to work and off work. I normally don't like dresses and heels, but I feel they're more festive and with graduation and summer around the corner, I thought I'd try something new.

Here's a casual pic. I just can't imagine what dress would look good on me, I'm so not girly :sweatdrop: but I still like sexy, feminine clothes .
My dear BF would probably be pleasantly surprised too .
Can you help? TIA!

You look like you could rock any dress! Bring that cute damier and anything will look good too.

Congrats on the Ph.D. I am soooo hoping to join you soon. I'll look for dresses on-line and try to get some posted. You'll have to wear a gown over it, so I'd get something relatively simple -- maybe a solid silk with some subtly sexy detailing.

^Hey thanks and good luck on your PhD!! We don't have to wear the black gown over our clothes here, we can come in whatever we want, as long it's festive, so post away!

An empire-line dress? I have slightly different figure to yours (not that far off though) and I find empire-line dresses to be really feminine and sexy; I think they would do justice to many different shapes!

^^^nooo, no pants! It's a big deal and a great opportunity to knock your bf's socks off with a festive dress!! (kidding about trousers -- they can look festive and awesome too...but dresses are really fun:smile:

go to a department store with friendly SA's and tell one about your predicament...i'm sure she'd be only too happy to help you find just the right thing for you!

Okay, so i've picked out a couple dresses i think would look great and shouldn't scare you too much.. I tried to pick more plain colours, and no extremely girly shapes or details .. I also think these would all work for your body!

This was a huge challenge for me as our taste are basicailly opposite, i hope you like something and don't wear pants!!:P

Thank you for you kind suggestions . I really like the first one but the bow is kind of girly for me. I wish I could try it on but we don't have DvF here as far as I know. Getting it unseen is kind of scary, what if it doesn't fit? But I'll look for a similar one, thanks!
