Phantom reveal--what kind of leather is this?

Just received this one from Bergdorf yesterday!

The photo can't really capture the red color in this bag, so it looks a little brown-ish. I couldn't pull the wings out because the leather is a little stiff. Does anyone know if that's because it's a new bag or is it a different type of leather?

Hey, I think you got the new leather. If I'm not wrong, its the same leather used on the tri-colors. BTW I love your phantom, the color's beautiful!

it actually looks like a near perfect shade of bordeaux on my monitor! It's lovely and I love this "new" leather for the Phantom!

Gorgeous colour! Intrigued by the new leather. It looks like there's a bit of a sheen to it.
The old leather is a little slouchy and has kind of a nubuck texture.
