Peweter Metallic and Bronze Metallic

Hi ladies,

I am really new to Balenciaga and need some help - hope someone can do me a favor. I recently purchased City 05 in Bronze in beautiful new condition, but now having second thoughts about the color. I am thinking may be I should rather get Pewter metallic, as it matches more of my clothes!! Problem is - I never saw Pewter metallic IRL! Looked at multiple pics here and could not figure out - some look really dark, almost black, some are more purple/silver shade - which I love!
If someone has pics of Bronze and Pewter side-by-side, would you please post it here? Or - tell me what color Pewter really is??! TIA!!

I recently acquired a Pewter boobie, and I would describe the colour as "old silver". It's not dark at all, but it has a warm tinge to it unlike "new silver" which is "cold". Know what I mean? I will try and post pics later, unless someone beats me to it... It's really beautiful, and I would think it would be more like a neutral colour that would go with everything than the bronze.

That link may help you, especially the last post. Pewter and bronze are completely different color. Bronze is more of a solid color, while pewter changes constantly depending upon the light source. HTH.

Lovelygarments - I reviewed the metallic thread very carefully, but could not figure out the color still - I guess it's very different depending on the lighting...

If anyone has pics - I would love to see them! TIA - the ones I saw are really really beautiful and so unique!!

They were made in Holiday 2004 and Holiday 2005 - they have not released metallics like these since then. They are so unique and beautiful. I love all of mine!

OK, so I am now totally confused...bought the Pewter City from a legit eBay seller.

Everything looks authentic, I got the bag today, but it looks ....just plain silver. I'll try to post a pic later...most of Pewters I saw in this thread have purplish shade to it, INCLUDING the pictures in ebay auction I won....but the bag I got is just dark silver color. Is there a difference between how the pictures look and real color, or did I get the wrong bag?? I am thinking now that may be I got City in Silver, but mine looks darker and has more metallic shine to it, than Silver....PLEASE HELP, VERY CONFUSED!!!

this looks like pewter to me.
can you post a pic of your bag, now that it is in your hands?

^^Yes - I sure will later tonight...that's what I mean: the pictures in this auction and my bag look different...Mine doesn't have purple shade to it...that's what confuses me so much...

That sure looks pewter to me too. Bbags can be really hard to photograph especially for the metallic bags.

OK, it finally dawned on me!!! (I never suffered from excessive imagination, but should listen to what other people told me in this thread!!) The bag changes color, depending on the light!!

I looked at it in day light, and then - in fluorescent lights in the office!! The second I took it under regular electric light - it immediately showed that awesome purple hue I was talking about! And then - in dimmed light, it looks like steel! This is pure magic! I am so in love with this bag!!

Anyway, here are some pics, alone and next to my brand new bronze City. Now the BIG question is - whether to keep the bronze...I am definitely more in love with pewter, but bronze looks pretty too, plus it's absolutely brand new!! But I usually never have 2 similar bags, even in different color.Tough decisions....

( I just noticed that when I took pictures this morning, the bag looked silver to me, but I now see that it looks purplish in the photos!! I still can't believe it!!)
