I'm 5 feet and wear ballet flats only with skinny jeans. I don't wear them w/ankle pants or short dresses b/c I worry it makes me look "stumpy." How about you -- would you wear ballet flats w/ankle pants or short dresses?
I gave up on ballet flats. I am 5'2 and I have the shortest legs ever...so when the ballet flat trend was super hot I decided to try it. I finally took a look at myself in the mirror at bloomingdales when I was out shopping and I was sooo horrified at how stumpy and fat and gross my legs were looking.
But if you have nice looking legs i'd go for it! They're cute with like a short skirt or something.
I am 5 feet and have not only short, but also, chubby lges. I won't wear flats with short dresses, but will do so with ankle pants. Comfort over fashion.
5'2 " here too, I will only wear ballet flats with skinny jeans/pants, fitted skirts (shorter pencil skirts), or shorts anything else and I look like my clothes are swallowing a stumpy version of me!
After reading this, maybe i'll give them another try. I'm 5'2" and bought 2 pairs when they were super cheap (ended up $3 each with the DSW clearance and my $10 off coupon) but never wore them out. I think the problem is that I also don't have skinny jeans/pants and that's what most of you are wearing them with.
I'm 5'2" 100lbs with short legs. I wear them with longer boot-cut jeans that sort of cover most of my feet except for the tippy tips of the ballet flats. I find that wearing them with skinny jeans makes my legs look even stumpier.
I also wear ballet flats with flowy, casual dresses over leggings.
I love flats, they are so cute and comfortable. I'm about 5'3 but I'm still growing (I'm 14) and thankfully I have really long legs. I think flats with a little bit of heel may help.
I love ballet flats but they seem to made only for women with really narrow feet. I'm 5'2 but claim 5"3 and have fat feet. I do have one pair of ballet flats by Michelle D from Dillard's. I wear them with straight or skinny jeans because I'm self conscious.
I am 5'1" and my feet are wider than most? I don't like how they look in most ballet flats since most are round toe, except! For ONE old pair of MARC flats that are discontinued :{
Oh and I wore them with skinny jeans. I have a pair of prada linea rossa city ballerinas, with a more pointed toe, that are coming my way, and I see myself wearing those with much more things than the normal round-toe ballet flat
