Personalisation - Crowns

Hello everybody!
I know that Goyard does an amazing job personalizing their suitcases, bags, small leather goods - you name it! And I know that they offer using different crowns for this purpose, too. Now I have heard that they have a strict policy that they use the crowns only for members of the nobility because a certain type of crown indicates the rank of the person/family in the hierarchy of the nobility.
Does anybody know if this is true?

True — Goyard no longer offers crown marquage for those who are not of royal lineage. In addition, they no longer offer marquage of the Goyard logo to anyone.

Yes, it's been this way for years. I jokingly requested a crown about 10 years ago and was told I could certainly have it if I could prove I was of noble lineage. Needless to say, I did not get the crown.
