Hi,
i'm just new here and I've read many interesting topics.
I need your help.
I'm planning to buy, as a present, a mikimoto strand.
I was looking for the most classical style, and I've seen this one:
http://www.mikimotoamerica.com/mm5/...e_Code=M&Product_Code=U70Q18G&Category_Code=S

What do you think about?

Now I'm starting thinking about the size. 16" or 18"? and which size for the pearls? I don't want something too big (the 8mm seems to me to be too big) so I was thinking about the 6.5mm or the 7.

Finally, which gold type? white or yellow? I know the receiver loves more the white gold, but for such an "important" present I think that yellow gold would best fit. Moreover, if you consider this to be used also in many years from now, the yellow seems to be more appropriate (now she is 30).

any idea or suggestions are welcome
thanks!

Beautiful strand of pearls!

As for length, it really depends on preference. Do you notice if the chains she usually wears sit up closer to her neck or drape down a bit? 18" is pretty safe, but 16" can be tight feeling for some people.

6.5 or 7mm are good sizes for a basic strand of pearls.

I would go with white gold if you know that is her preference. There is a very little amount of gold in the strand, but it will make her happy and at this stage, she probably will always prefer the white gold. She will probably wear the strand more.

Thanks for the info :)
I think I made the decision for the 18". As you said the 16" would be too short.

Now another point came to me:
7x6,5mm A+ or 7.5x7mm A ??

So actually is, smaller at higher quality, or a little bit bigger with a little less quality?
Do you think the difference would be so clear between A and A+?

I know I should go in the shop and decide looking at them, but since is 5h driving from me, I would like to arrive there with my idea already clear :)
Thanks again!

18 mm is the most apropriate as far as the length of the strand. I just bought a Mikimoto pearl neclase and 7.5x7 is, in my opinion, the best choice, but the difference between A+ and A isn't noticeable.:yes::smile1:
