Hi dear TPF'ers!

Could I get your opinion on what I should do?
I've been looking for the older 13 mm version of the Perlee clover ring for some time now. Unfortunately it is discontinued and also not resizeable.

I was excited to find it recently in my size! Here's my dilemma: because the ring is so tall, it actually fits best on my left hand ring finger, as it is just a touch longer than my right hand ring finger. I think if I were to wear this as a right hand ring (as I had originally hoped) I would have to find the size to fit my right hand middle finger.

So...wear this on my left hand on occasion, and just not wear my wedding rings on those dates? Or return and hope to find it in a slightly larger size in the future? Do you ladies sometimes just rock your VCA rings instead of your wedding rings?

I guess another option is to buy the current version, which would be thin enough to wear on my right hand ring finger. I just do prefer how the older version looks.

Thanks for helping me think out this silly "dilemma" :flowers:

It looks so pretty on you! I love that wider perlee. How different does it look on right hand ring finger? Would you consider switching that to be your permanent wedding band? Seems a waste if you won’t end up wearing it a lot, but if wearing it only occasionally doesn’t bother you, I’d keep this and if you later find the right size for your RHR, then you can decide at that point which to keep. But because this one’s hard to find, you may not get that chance again!

I would buy the new version and wear it on your right hand.
I think to buy a ring and force-use it ocassionally is a waste.
There will always be pieces of jewelry we love that does not work for us. For me, it's short necklaces; they compete with my round neckline tops, so I never buy short necklaces no matter how much I love one.

For me, my engagement ring is a shining star that I love love love. I am certain your e-ring is fabulous too!
No way would I wear the Clover band on my left hand to look like an e-ring. I am sure your e-ring is a star too!

In your above photos, it's odd..
In the first photo, I would say the band is too thick as the band goes up near your knuckle, so it makes the finger look a bit stubby.
However, in the second photo, the width looks great. Maybe wear it on your right hand to see if it looks good, or if you get that thick-band-stubby-finger look. If yes, I'd get the thinner one.

As with clothing sizes, I would get the piece that looks fabulous on you!

Thank you everyone for your kind and sage words!! I knew you'd help me think through this!

I gave it another go and turns out I think it fits my right hand ring finger better than I realized the first time. I still have a bit to think about, and it just might be best to return. But we'll see. Thank you again everyone!! :flowers:

It looks great! Not to wide at all, you have a lot of space between the ring and your knuckle! Keep keep keep!

My thoughts on this ring (and any band ring) if it might help in your decision...

The wedding ring look...
Band rings have the potential to look like wedding bands (e.g. divorced lady who wears her ex-wedding band on her right hand). Some people wear their ex-wedding bands on their right hand and love it, but it's not my look.

Hence, when wearing a band ring on the right hand, I think a band ring needs to make a jewelry statement and not come across as a wedding band. Your thick band width is perfect, it definitely makes a bold jewelry statement (e.g. most wedding bands are usually thinner bands).

Sausage Finger look...
Some wide band rings can create a sausage finger look, especially when worn too tight or if the band width is too wide for the finger. Your ring's width is not too wide at all. The way you described it earlier, I was imagining the edge of the ring up near your knuckle, but that is not the case, not even close. Perfect bold width!

The size lands on your finger great. Your fingers are nice and thin so there is that little "air gap" at the bottom of your fingers. I love how the band lays on your finger, and it is not pushed all the way down, so you still see that little air gap, as in "yes, my slender fingers under that big bold ring" (you need that little air gap for a skinny finger look). I hope that made sense. The ring is also not too tight, so no "sausage finger" look as some band rings can do.

Your middle finger is long and slender. See that nice smooth skinny middle finger? It creates a beautiful contrast next to the bold wide ring. Also, your photograph shows your hands closed pretty tight, especially your fourth finger and your pinkie. In real life, hands are opened-up a bit more creating more air space. I can visualize your hands opened in a relaxed position and the ring looking gorgeous on you!

I would definitely keep the ring! It looks fabulous on you, and it makes a great statement.

Just my two cents. Hope this helps in your decision.

My apologies for the late response! I've been traveling and away. But I soo appreciate your words. You just have a way of articulating things I'm thinking but don't know how to express! Yes I totally agree. I think this would be a lovely middle finger ring, and is probably best suited for that. But I love how it makes a statement as a bold right ring finger piece!! And yes, I decided to keep it after all!

By the way, I have not seen the oynx earrings with the center diamond. They look really nice. I like how it breaks up the all black onyx stone. It adds a little sparkle and softness. It looks great on you.

Thank you! I find these so very wearable and I find myself reaching for them often. I love the little extra with the center diamond, and the pink gold!

I agree I think the diamond here works so well with the contrast of the onyx!

Thank you so much!! They've become one of my favorites!

The ring looks beautiful on your right hand. I would definitely keep.

Thank you!! And I did, hee hee!
