I have a nice unset pear peridot that I’ve had for ages abd don’t know what to do with it.
The warmth of the green makes me feel uncertain about pairing with other gemstones. It is very summery and bright.

How do you like to wear or enjoy peridot??

Peridots are not the hardiest of stones and can be scratched and can be attacked with everyday acids. They must be only cleaned with care, usually warm soapy water. I think some people worry about them.

I like green stones very much and peridots, and olivine stones probably suit my skin tone more than jade, aventurine, emeralds etc. My very favourites are demantoid and tsavorite garnets, but peridots are lovely too.

My favourite piece that includes a peridot (cabochon) is a Georg Jensen silver Lily/Viviana cuff (now discontinued I believe). There were other choices of stones (onyx or blue topaz) that were much less expensive, but the light olive-green stone against the silver was

I think they’re incredibly pretty. They’re not my favourite green gemstone, that would probably go to chrome diopside, but I do think they’re gorgeous.
I have a pair of 14K YG multi-gemstone (briolettes) drop earrings set with peridot, blue topaz, citrine and amethyst that I’ve had for years, and I love wearing them.

Perhaps it would make a lovely pendant with a fine diamond halo? I also wouldn't want any coloured gems stealing the peridot's thunder but I do quite enjoy the peridot pieces I've seen paired with sapphire, it feels very regal and harmonious.

I didn't know how fragile they were, I thought they were about a 7 which is not as hard as ruby/sapphire or emerald but I probably wouldn't trust myself with a peridot ring for everyday wear. Would love to see that cuff!

Peridot and sapphire sounds amazing. May have to Google! have been mulling over a ring. It’s been sitting forever I just can’t settle on anything. Thanks for this thread! Will help to get the creative juices going.
I also think this thread needs pics!
I have an interesting silver set peridot bracelet I will have to find to photograph!

Your wish is my command - hope pic is not too big straight from my phone. I'll try as a thumbnail
