Hi gals,

I have another random question for everyone. I’m in the market for a diamond solitaire pendant to coordinate with my earrings and watch which I wear on most days. I’ve been thinking maybe something with a bezel since they look good with the thicker chains (wheat/snake chain or similar thickness) and I believe it will coordinate with the design of my Ballon Bleu.

I went shopping today to get an idea of sizing preference in stores. I tried a 25 pointer and it looked delicate - maybe a bit swallowed by the bezel but nice. Then I tried 1/2 carat (also in a bezel) and it looked ginormous. Is there a rule of thumb for pairing a bezel set diamond pendant with studs? Neither felt “right” but I’m struggling to articulate why. They wouldn’t let me take photos and I really wish they would have so I could share. I thought your pendant should be the same size or larger than one of your studs? Did I have the wrong rule of thumb?

I’d also love to see photos of pendants with bezels in different sizes preferably paired with studs :-). I never can have enough eye candy and inspiration :-)

If your studs are 1.3 each then I would say go with at least that size and the bezel wil give a bigger look. If they are approx. .65 each then go with at least that size. There’s no way .5 carat looks ginormous, especially with a heavier chain. In fact, with a heavier chain then you should be fine with close to a carat to go with .65 studs.

Does it have to be a solitaire? For me, I’m not crazy about the solitaire earring and pendant look. I find there is not enough “wow” factor. Plus, I have seen some earrings and necklaces where people have different color grades of diamonds and it makes the more yellow diamond more obvious and that is not a good look to me.

How about a pendant with pave or smaller diamonds? You still get the diamond effect but you are not doing the solitaire to solitaire Look.

Just my two cents.
