My daughter begged to have hers done for at least 6 months. I took her to Claire's on her 6th birthday and there were two grown women working there. They each took a little white plastic "gun" out of a sealed wrapping and loaded an earring into each one. Then both women counted to three and pierced both ears at the same time. My daughter was thrilled! We picked out solid white gold with little CZ stones, they look like little diamonds and my daughter thinks that they are diamonds. I am a major germ freak and it was a completely sanitary process.
