SIERRA SATCHEL IN SIGNATURE WITH EXOTIC MIX TRIM
Purchased 12/7/16 from the legitimate couchoutlet.com. What happened here? Never used-you can see the tag is still attached.34908C52-2B53-4E6B-9FD6-EC52BDC4D437.jpeg63D8AFE1-A74C-4CBC-AE3A-10779FAB5E04.jpeg

I had this happen to me with a Coach bag in 2013. But I used the bag for 3 months in a row. I stopped using it because it started to peel. After, that it continued to peel more even while in storage. I didn't know about the 1 year warranty back then. Otherwise, I think I could have turned it in for that. Sorry you had this happen to you.

I hate to say it, but it is a Coach Outlet bag. They are not made as well as the boutique bags, and these types of things tend to happen more often with them. Not that this is to be expected, but when I see people have things like this occur, majority of the time, it's an MFF bag. I personally don't like purchasing anything except deletes from there for this reason.

What kind of temperatures and humidity was it stored in? I can see this happening if it was kept in a garage where it was subjected to extreme temperatures.

Coach outlet bags can't represents the quality of Coach boutique. I consider all outlet bags are "Official Knockoff". They use different material, cheaply made specifically for outlet. These bags are not going to last you a long time no matter used or non-used.

I think it depends on the era and bag. I've had outlet bags that were great quality. And I've had problems with boutique bags.

I really want to agree with you, I have a leather bag and a belt from outlet purchased 7 years ago, the leather is still in grate condition. but the quality is no longer there now a days, especially the women's outlet handbags. In the recent years, Coach outlet has a few outlet designs (this Sierra Satchel is one of them) are specially cheaply & massively made, every new season they just change the color combination or the pattern on the leather, the quality has gone way low than it used to be.

Of course there may be exclusions, but generally speaking, to me, today's outlet bags are not worth buying. most of them are very close to knockoff quality.

I agree. A lot of the outlet bags anymore are crossgrain, and frankly, even the boutique crossgrain puts a bad taste in my mouth for durability and quality. I was in a boutique store over the holidays, and the SA was showing me one of the turnlock totes, and I commented how unfortunately, being crossgrain, I wasn't interested. She got closer and whispered to me, "I completely agree." What does that tell you when the employees don't even want to promote it whole heartedly?

I hate crossgrain! There are many styles I won't consider because of it.

hate crossgrain +1
also hate polished pebble leather.
My only bad experience with Coach boutique bags are one little cross body made from polished pebble leather. I took her to a long travel with me and it turned so ugly after 3 months of use.
the color robbed off from piping and I can see though the leather, it's like a very thin and weak leather with a paint coating on top. no way to condition it back to alive.
The outlet crossgrain bags definitely even worse, since the hardware and stitching are also in bad quality control.

I feel the need to add a bit of love for Coach crossgrain leather bags. I have one; the Prince Street Satchel in Navy. It's one of my favourite Coach bags. I love the shape, the wide opening, the front slip pocket, the two inner pockets; it's a great bag (boutique bag but not 1941). I carried it into my boutique on day and was gushing about how much I love it; my SA told me that it predates the 1941 launch, when there weren't really two different lines/quality levels. Mine looks brand new and is a great work bag. I took the metal Coach tag off immediately; I love the quality and how understated it is. It was my first Coach bag and my gateway into the brand.

I don't like the outlet bags at all; even my husband can see the difference in quality and he knows nothing about bags. I do like their jackets; I have two that I wear a lot.

Note: Pictures are not mine.
