I am looking for something roomy and easy to use that will be durable enough for daily use with a laptop. I don't usually take public transportation so I'm not super worried about security.

Style-wise I prefer the Peekaboo but I think the Celine is likely more durable - my Belt bag has held up extremely well and I think the Sangle would also wear well. Which would you choose? Anyone have both that could compare durability?

The Peekaboo has a more sophisticated or put-together look while the Sangle is very casual and minimalistic. So I suppose it depends on your aesthetic and style.
Perhaps look into your wardrobe and see which one suites your outfits better?

With Celine, the best work bag in my opinion is the Cabas Phantom.

Cabas Phantom is also an excellent option. Like the Peekaboo, it has more design and style but it is not as formal and serious as the Peekaboo. It has more youthful/casual features.

For the Peekaboo, depending on the size you're interested in, I've heard that it has a lot of leather and it can get heavy quickly, so that's something to keep in mind.
The Sangle is simple but definitely comfortable bag. While I don't have one, I tried one on and it forms to the body well. The wide shoulder strap is also very comfortable!

Both great bags that are sturdy and have great leather quality! Good luck!

I'd personally go for the Sangle as it would be more versatile as a workhorse bag; I have the small version and love it for everyday use. It's also very durable and doesn't need to be babied.

The Peekaboo is beautiful, but it looks like it would get heavy with a laptop. I've also heard the leather is very delicate and prone to wear/scratches, unless this is a specific model with different leather?

I vote Sangle or Cabas Phantom! I have both and love them very much. Very functional yet still classic and chic.

Thank you for your input! I had considered the Cabas Phantom but it seems a little too unstructured for what I’m looking for. I used to have the Saint Laurent shopping bag (photo below) and it drove me nuts because it just was a puddly mess. Do you think the Cabas Phantom has more structure? Enough to stand up on its own with a laptop inside?

It is a good point that they are pretty different stylistically. I dress pretty casually outside of work so the Sangle would be more versatile in that way - on the other hand I have always loved the Peekaboo but don’t see myself carrying it outside of a work setting so I think a work bag is the only way I’ll ever get one. I do think either one could work with my work wardrobe given I have a pretty casual office, and the Sangle would likely draw less attention (which is what I want at work).

yes that’s what I’ve heard about the Peekaboo as well regarding scratches. I am not really bothered by heavy bags but I would hate to beat up the bag badly with heavy use.

I believe the Cabas Phantom’s leather has some more stiffness and structure than the YSL tote. (And I find the YSL tote pretty soft and pliable) Actually got to take a look at a couple Cabas’s last week haha.

And the Cabas does stand alone on its own but I don’t know how much the weight would shift as you start to put things inside.

Though from reading your responses, it looks like you’re leaning towards the Sangle:biggrin:.
(I’m actually interested in it too! But my clothes are pretty dressy so it doesn’t match well with my wardrobe:P)

Both Sangle and Phantom will stand up with a laptop and other items to balance it out and keep it from tipping over. They will both tip over with only a laptop. The Phantom puddles somewhat depending on how much is in it, the Sangle not so much.

I voted the Sangle for work. My preference is to have a very minimal logo with work accessories so my Sangle is perfect in that regard. It fits loads and the strap is perfect. I also think an organiser is a must for the bag to keep everything in order!
If I am carrying my laptop and files I bring my Mulberry large zipped bayswater which is incredibly durable, fits and carries a tonne and is quite minimal logo wise.
Ultimately it depends on your style, profession and organisation.
Best of luck.
