OK, so i am sitting in the dentist office waiting for my child. i see this newsweek cover with michelle *****. do i read about her???

no, i become fascinated by the pearls she is wearing. they look like gumball sized pearls.

can they be real???

i love them. i want them. i need these big pearls.

i came home and looked at my 10mm pearls, and they looked like little bee-bees compared to those pearls.

how big do you think they are?

i can't post a photo, i tried to look for her newsweek photo online..but couldn't find it. but i have seen her wearing these big pearls on television.

If these are real, these look to be about 14-16mm size. There really isn't an inexpensive way to do this size in real pearls unless you go with Baroque shape. Cultured Pearls "top out" in size at 14mm.
South Sea Pearls will go up to 20-22mm and more.

To give you an idea of the range of prices, I've made South Seas in 15.25mm-13.4mm slightly graduated
(hand knotted, round, great luster, some blemishes) for about $3650.
I also just a made a 10-13mm, VERY high luster, no blemish, round for $5500.

I hope this helps!!

I have one pearl that size and I feel it is enough. It is so yummy it reminds me of a white choc. lindt ball and it always draws the eye to it. I think it looks great hanging down just above the cleavage!!!!!

I used to sell fashion jewelry...

You could do a close match with the Majorica brand baroque pearls. They are oddly shaped, but you would get the same effect. They are lab created pearls but they are beautiful.

Carolee made a necklace like she is wearing too. Nordstrom had it last Spring, but I don't believe they are carring Carolee anymore. I believe Macy's has Carolee...
