Pear vs. Crystal studs---Help me decide! : )

Ok so here's my big delimna....

Money is not the issue---I know the pearls would likely be more expensive----what I want to know is what do you think looks best on a woman in her early 30's.

A pair of pearl studs (around 8.5-9mm) or a pair of nice crystal studs (Swarovski).

Ok, so here's my issue.

I have a pair of real pearls....they have a very nice nacre and have a warm color to them. They're really pretty, but they are only 7.5 mm. I am not a tiny woman (nor am I huge), but I have some curves and you might say I have a big rear end (think JLo and then add a 2 lbs! lol)

So sometimes I feel like b/c my face is a little fuller/rounder, my hips are big, etc, that 7.5mm get kind of lost on me. Does that make sense? Should your pearl earrings be more in proportion with your size, or is that crazy?
