I feel so silly having to ask this, but I’ve recently relocated from Australia to Singapore and yesterday I made a purchase at Saint Laurent for SGD 2990. (The bag also costs AUD 2990 on the Australian website). The lady asked if I wanted to pay in SGD or AUD and I *stupidly* said AUD. I was charged $3190.
I’ve since researched and discovered that I should have paid in the local currency.
Is there anyone knowledgeable about this area who can tell me if I’ve had to pay a significant amount extra due to making the wrong choice? If it’s marginal I’m okay, but if it’s upwards of $50 I’m wondering if I have any recourse to ask Saint Laurent for a refund and to then repurchase in local currency. And looking at this receipt am I right in thinking my decision to pay AUD cost me an extra $122?? I’ve included a picture of the transaction below with the rates included. I feel so foolish for not thinking about this prior to purchasing.
Any advice is so appreciated!

I am guessing your credit card was issued by an Australian bank? When I travel internationally with my US credit card I always choose local currency...it is the better choice as the point of sale conversion usually results in higher charges. My Credit card doesn't charge me a foreign transaction fee so their conversion is pretty exact.

If you continue to use your Australian card make sure it doesn't have a foreign transaction fee and choose local currency next time.
