I have a 2 year old LV bag. The patina I noticed today is getting darker a bit. I want to slow that down. Not a fan of the darker patina. Can I use the Apple Guard even tho it’s not a new bag? Thank you!

I'm sure you could, but I would warn against it. There is always the possibility that it could darken the patina further. I think if you don't care for darkened patina, avoid bags with vachetta. And remember that there is a big difference between darkened patina and dirty leather that has been grabbed by grimy hands over and over. It's the nature of the leather to darken!

If I saw you wearing a LV with dark (or any extent of) patina, I'd admire the bag! Perhaps a call to LV could advise you on maintaining the vachetta how you'd like. Good luck!

Thank you. I think I’m going to take your advice. I appreciate it.

I’m glad because using a product on one of my vachetta bags actually made it darker. I wished I had left it alone!
The great thing with LV is that you can get the vachetta replaced if you are unhappy with it getting dirty over time. Patina, however, shows love for the bag and looks so great to me. It’s like “This bag is used and enjoyed!” I can always tell the difference between dirt and patina when I see people’s bags. :)

Need help deciding as I have the same view of wanting to keep vachetta newer looking. I have a neverfull mono mm but am getting really stressed out about the vachetta I’ve only used it about 10 times and each time I am very nervous I will ruin it or it will start darkening and turning a brown instead of honey. I am debating on trading it up for a Damier ebene neverfull with rose ballerine interior. Anyone have any suggestions or opinions?
