Just a quick question - I know H keeps every customer's purchase record by the passport number. I hold a Canadian passport which will expire next year. I have to get a new one that comes with a new passport number. So does that mean H can no longer trace my purchase history?

Please let me know. Tia!

I went shopping in FSH last April with new passport and they asked me if I was the same person than the one in their records living at such address (with old passport number and address.... ). I confirmed and told them my new address. I guess their records, recognise you first by your name.

FSH and the George V store accepted a photocopy of my passport for purchases in April. I don't carry my passport with me when out and about, only a copy.

New Bond Street London also processed the transaction with a copy of the passport. I never carry my passport while out and about, and no boutique/shop has denied doing my VAT refund paperwork when I present a passport copy.

My ID and passport have the same number. FSH accepted my ID.

IF the number were wrong, I would not be able to get my VAT back, so they accepted this and processed the VAT form with my ID number
