Hi all,
after reading about the Paris sales...i am now very curious:sneaky: and have a few questions...

1) is it open to all or VIP's only?
2) what to expect in terms of crowds, :bagslap: does it go on?
3) what exactly goes on sale and what % are they reduced by?

And lastly if anyone could perhaps share there best " Sale Find" or any funny story witnessed at the H sale it would be most appreciated.

#1--the sale is open to everyone. There is a VIP day but all it means is that on this day if your name is on a list you can go in and out of the sale without the lines, and perhaps have an espresso. That is all. And it is not on the first day.

#2--Crowds--you better love them! Or at least tolerate them with humor. The lines on day one are generally about three hours.

#3--In Paris, you will find "lesser" bags (no kellys, no birkins, nothing too expensive or rare). But those first in line often find garden party bags, scarves, shawls, gloves, belts, shoes, bracelets, small leathers. Ready-to-wear. Ties. Hats.

Some items are replenished during the sale, but some of the best things tend to go on the first day.

#4. I am sure if I think about it I will have many stories. I have gone to at least one sale a year for 15 years in Paris. Off the top of my head, I remember being with one of the BEST tpf members, a sweet 20-something Hermes collector. We were talking (I think I was holding up shawls for her to see, or she was holding them...) and inches behind her a man stripped off his pants, to try on Hermes trousers. I did not know whether to tell her to turn around or not...a rather stunning moment. How do you tell a sweet woman that there is a man in his underwear inches behind her?

Thank you thenurse - have done a search and after reading the 2010 thread... all i can say  i may not be ready for that just yet, maybe a year or two of Boxing classes and im good to go!

Thank you Perigord for answering my questions, i have just finished reading the 2010 sale thread and WOW, Im scared!! May give the thought of attending the sales a miss, unless of course there is an army of TPF'ers :graucho::graucho:
As for the pant dropping guy:laugh:....well i guess nothing gets in the way of picking up a desired H item at sale to some people.....or maybe he just got soooo excited that he lost control...literally! & needed those new H pants there and then
