I may be in Paris in March for the Chanel runway show :sweatdrop::heart: BUT, had my mind on a Birkin.

A friend of mine who owns a boutique in the DC area said she got her Fjord Black Birkin 35 with gold hdw in October 2008 for 6500 USD and since she owns a boutique, she didnt even have to pay any customs etc...somehow she sent it to her boutique as a business shipment I guess? (not sure on the details...) ANYHOO...I almost passed out when she said hers was 6500 USD from the conversion rate in euros!!!!

Can anyone else confirm this since I'd be more than giddy to place my order in Paris when I go this March!!!

Oh yes, she said she had the option to pay for it at the time of ordering OR at time of shipment, ofcourse she chose to pay at the time of ordering since that saved her atleast 1-2 price increases haha...I wish we could pay at the time we placed our orders in the US too!!

I have no idea if you will be able to get a black one, but it is certainly possible for a birkin in FSH - the key is to go often and early and then in the early afternoon.
Ooh, the Chanel show that must be a sight to see!!

^^oopsies...sorry to clarify...I didnt need a black one...actually my NEXT color was a toss up between red (id love a braise, rouge vif, rouge garrance even) OR black with gold hdw...

but i think id take gold, etoupe too hehe...just didnt want something in the blue family again so soon

thanks!!! I'll report back tho if i end up making the trip!!!

Sounds a bit strange never heard that this was a possibility at FSH

Well, in October the Birkin was €5300 less the 10% tax = €4770 which in today's american money is $6,123. Unfortunately, the Birkin is now €5650 amd after the 10% less its €5085 = $6527.

So... I guess for you, its only 27bucks more than what your friend paid. I am off to Miami in 2 weeks (hols) shall I buy a Birkin to flog in the US? (only kidding... )
