Hello ladies and gents of purse forum,

I'm looking for the best bag for day to day life in Paris. I work in finance and I want a bag that makes a statement but that's not too flashy that can be worn with a crossbody strap.

I happen to love Celine (Philo Celine... not a huge fan of Sliman's changes). I just sold my pre loved Celine mini black Belt bag (inappropriately named because the mini is actually quite big) because I felt that it was too bulky for my commute in the metro and walking around, plus the strap can only be worn on the shoulder (pic of me and mini belt bag).
I was thinking about downsizing to the micro Belt bag in black because I still love the look of the bag but it also has a crossbody strap... but I could save money on another bag like the large Trio. I like the simplicity of the Trio, it looks so easy to get things in and out from the zippers. The downsides are that I've read other posts in the forum talking about the flimsy-ness of the strap and my other colleague has it (I don't feel comfortable getting the same bag...)
I am in love with the Celine Box bag size medium but it costs more than I want to spend (plus I have the Celine Trotteur size small which has a similar vibe but I only use this bag for evening since it's too small for everyday use).

I could go in the completely opposite direction with another designer and get the Chloé Drew bag, Gucci Interlock (maybe too flashy, but I would love a bag with a little bling to dress up a casual outfit), or Saint Laurent Sac du jour (although I see a lot of women in Paris with this bag... maybe too many).

What are your thoughts? Any ideas of a chic and functional crossbody bag?

For a bit of subdued bling you might check out Gucci Dionysus: not the one with the interlocking Gs, but either the leather & suede or all pebbled leather model. They come in different sizes. The strap is a chain, which you might not like. Then for subdued luxury at a good price point there is the Valextra Iside in medium or large, available at either Le Bon Marché or Galeries Lafayette. This season they have a gorgeous matte box leather in grey, but the bag comes in different colours.
Good luck in your search!

Stick with Celine! Your bag is gorgeous and if you really love it, get it in one size smaller. I have heard the quality on the trio isn’t the greatest so I would avoid that one. How about a Nano?

When in Paris, how about LC? Le Foulonné crossbody is gorgeous, simple and practical. If you want something with a little more details, LC also has such great high end bags these days they are very much worth looking into.

I have a feeling I will, but probably down size from mini to the micro so there will still be the zipper pocket on the back, thanks!
