Paris by Night (chasing Santa's Orange Sleigh)

'Twas the night before (the week before) Christmas,
and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring,
not even a mouse...

because in a last minute shopping frenzy, they all hopped on a plane to stalk the Big Man In Red (you know, just in case he forgot everything on the Wish List...)

It was too cold to track Santa's sleigh with the Velibs...

So the expedition set out on foot...

There was too much eye candy to take in, from the Christmas markets that had sprung up all around town, to the cheery (blue!!!) fairy lights...

Place Vendommmmmmmmme... ah, j'adore!

(thankfully the shops were all closed, or our credit cards would have been in serious trouble!!!)

Avenue Montaigne - trees lit up in the shape of some conical cheese I can't remember the name of...

Rue St Honore, where the Big Man's sleigh was spotted just rounding the corner at the end...

He even stopped for a long drink at the Crillon (while his reindeer froze and shivered outside on the windy rue Boissy d'Anglas).

But as it turned out, the Crillon was practically a stone's throw away from Santa's Auxiliary Workshop...
