Do we think they are just having a fashion moment, or are they a classic? I love my necklace and almost want to get a second chain, but I wonder how long I will want to wear it.

I’ve wondered the same thing. From my understanding, paperclip chains are not “new”…they just fell out of favor and have now come back. But I feel they’re back to stay as a classic chain style now.

I think the size is more the trend…the big chunky gold versions worn choker style.

Depends on your style and what you like to wear. I’m a late adapter to fashion; I wear vintage and designer; and, I rotate my own closet items from 1990s onward. As I get older, my jewelry style tends towards chunky yellow gold, so for me, this trend is classic. Plus, DH picked my paper clip lariat chain and the charms that go on it (center pic) so there is that . Also pictured with a borrocal torso pendant and an aquamarine pendant pin
