I'm excited to pick between the two toned Panthere watch (small) and the YG JUC bracelet (regular) for a special occasion gift. I already have a stainless steel Tank Francaise, a YG Love cuff, and a YG Love ring. The Panthere and JUC have both been on my list for a while, and both would go well with my current collection.

Panthere pros:
- tie together my yellow gold jewelry and platinum wedding set
- goes with my overall aesthetic (minimalist, love the 90s vibe of the watch)
- versatile - can wear to work

Panthere cons:
- not sure if I need two Cartier watches (I still really love my Tank Francaise)
- too popular? Every Instagram/TikTok influencer seems to wear one these days

JUC pros:
- stacks well with my Love cuff
- love the look of it
- can leave on 24/7

JUC cons:
- a bit bold for my aesthetic (I'm petite and don't really wear "loud" jewelry)
- too eye-catching to comfortably wear to work

Please let me know what your thoughts are. TIA!

Hmm, this is a little tricky since I have a TT panthere, medium, YG, SS, and it's my daily watch.
So I usually go with what I don't have which is the JUC.

While my tank has been my daily watch for a few years now, I can foresee myself switching up in 2-3 years. Mainly because things get worn overtime and I've realized while I am a creature of habit and I do wear my pieces often, after about 5 years or so they do get incredibly worn and I want to give them a break.
As for the panthere watch being "too popular", I judge that more about what I see in real life. (and honestly, who knows what's real on social media nowadays)
I also live in a relatively well off area. When I go out to eat, I see birkins, VCAs, Cartiers, etc.
And honestly, rarely do I see a TT or all gold panthere.
I definitely see more Love bracelets, JUCs, and VCA bracelets than luxury watches.

As for the JUC, if I was going to wear to work, I'd just wear long sleeves.
I wear my panthere, love bracelet and a Tiffany bangle everyday, but no one can tell because of the sleeves. Only a handful of close colleagues are aware.
Personally I don't find the JUC super bold, but if you are petite and you're getting the regular size, I can see it being a little more pronounced on your wrist. But again, not super intense imo.
But if it is something you're not comfortable wearing, what will most likely happen is that you end up not reaching for it.

Therefore, based on your post. For you, I'd get the watch (for me the JUC lol).

I’m not fond of the panthere or TT. I lived through it in the late eighties/ nineties, and I prefer both the francais that you own and the santos.

While the panthere is popular now, I see evidence of it waning, so I would recommend the YG JUC.

But, if you feel thr JUC is too bold, and perhaps not work suitable, then i say to go with your gut instinct. If neither speak strongly, perhaps wait.

But, really there is no wrong answer. Just follow your heart :) we will be happy to hear and see your decision no matter what you choose!

Congrats on your very special occasion!

ETA: given your concerns, the TT panthere may be the more practical, user friendly choice. But, I’m actually not a very practical person 😂 I should also add that I am not a fan of TT generally. So, I’d sooner mix metals (as in wear all SS watch on one wrist and YG on the other) or switch to YG entirely which is sadly a different price point

ETA: agree with @lill_canele , re the option to stack the JUC with your current bracelets. I don’t wear a watch with anything else, so if your priority is to build a stack, then that’s another reason to go the JUC route. ;)

Given that you already have a watch that you love I'd pick the JUC.

With regards to it being bold on you, I'm also petite with small wrists and initially disregarded the regular JUC as it looked quite chunky on my wrist when I looked down at it.
I'd recommend trying it on in front of a full length mirror from a couple of feet away! That's the way most people see you. When I tried this I realised it wasn't that bold at all. I bought mine a couple of months ago and absolutely love it, although I prefer to wear mine alone currently. In fact worn like that I'd say it's less bold than the Love bracelet / cuff!

Thank you for the replies so far. So many helpful perspectives! I like the small JUC on others but don't plan on wearing it in a stack often - and I think the small JUC looks best in a stack. I like the option of wearing it with my Love cuff but actually plan to wear it on its own mostly.

@880 I also didn't love the two-tone look initially but find the Panthere version to be very well-executed. Seeing Zendaya rock it in Challengers may also have influenced me...

@lill_canele do you mean you wear the Panthere or Tank as your daily watch? If so, which one do you like better? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you!

@Tonimichelle would love to see a picture of the regular JUC on you!

Just to clarify, I plan to wear just 1-2 things on my wrist at one time. If you have both items, which one do you like more? And do you prefer having multiple Cartier watches or bracelets?

There you go. Please, please excuse the ancient top and jeans.. they're my slobbing around the house attire, also the mirror is grubby and I haven't blow dried my hair.. but this is the one photo I have to hand that's not a wrist shot!

Edited to add a wrist shot too. For reference my wrist is 14.5cm, I'm 5'2" and UK size 8.
Hope that helps

Oh I don’t have a tank.
The Panthere TT is my daily watch.

Don’t have both. Just a love bracelet and Panthere. But I stack them together.

For watches vs bracelets.
Well, you can think of it like:
You can wear multiple bracelets on either wrist but most people don’t wear multiple watches lol.

However, for Cartier watches themselves, I can see myself owning multiple down the line.

Idk if you ever read the children's books by Richard Scarry, but there's a character called bananas gorilla that wears multiple watches at a time.

@beesknees2 have you had a chance to try on the watch and juc to see if either one speaks to you more?

This is tough! Ultimately, you can’t go wrong with either option.

Personally, I’m a watch gal, so I’d go for the watch … except I’m not a fan of the two-tone Panthere — it feels simultaneously dated and busy to me. And I do like other two-tone/vintage watches; I have a two-tone vintage Datejust that I love but for some reason I far prefer the Panthere in either steel or gold, but not both.

But if you love it, go for it! I personally get more wear out of watches than bracelets — for me a watch is a functional piece of jewelry — but I think most others would probably wear the bracelet more and given the two options you have I would actually go with the JUC due to preferring a single-tone metal option vs. two-tone.

Good luck deciding!

Based on the pros and cons you listed for both pieces, I feel like you will get more wear out of the watch and it will allow all your pieces to flow smother since its TT. However, the tank and panthere gives a similar vibe imo.

I would go for the JUC if you won’t mind just wearing it on occasions or when not at work since you feel a bit uncomfortable wearing it at work. Not all pieces should be daily wear unless if that’s what you are looking for BUT if you feel like its doable to wear juc at work, then I would go for the JUC that way you can wear all pieces; the watch, love and juc.

I recommend the JUC since you already have a similar watch. It goes perfectly with the Love and will be a wonderful stack. Next time you buy something big, then go for the watch if you still want it.

Thanks for all the helpful feedback! I do think I will get more use of the watch (possibly at the expense of my Tank), but I find the JUC more striking in person.

I don't have a photo of me trying on the JUC, but here's one of my Panthere try-on. This is the RG-SS with diamonds since the store didn't have the YG-SS (no diamonds) at the time.

You look great! And the JUC looks perfect on you. Do you wear it often?
