I need some advice from Palm Springs mini owners. My friend just asked me if I wanted to buy her excellent condition Palm Springs Mini. She doesn’t use it much and wants to fund a new bag. She’s selling it to me for a great price. The problem is, she has the old zipper version. The zipper works smoothly on her bag and so far there’s no issues with the canvas. I told her I’d think about it and let her know. I’m not really in the market to buy a bag right now, but this is a bag I always thought was really cute and I’ll be honest, the price is hard to say no to. I do have a lot of bags so it wouldn’t be used too often. My question is if I can get one in excellent condition for a great price, should I do it? Or will it for sure give me problems in a few years? Thanks for your input!!!

At least with this one, you were able to inpect before buying.
I too, have the older zip version and have had no problems. I don’t use it often anymore but have used it heavily for travel when I first got it several years ago.

I also have the old version and have no problems with it either. I got it when it was first released so had it for many many years and no issues. I use it quite frequently and all good. If you like it and it’s a great place and you have a use for it then I say go for it!! It’s a great cute bag and fits a tonne!!
Thank you for your replies! She said it’s just too small for her so she never used it much. It was made and bought in 2019 so not sure if this was a year of issues or not but it looks brand new and the zipper has no issues. I was reading if it starts to have issues, I could try waxing the zipper. I’m an really thinking of going for it. I really don’t need another bag but she is giving me such a great deal I don’t think I should pass it up!

I didn’t see if the bag you are contemplating is the monogram or reverse but I bought the reverse right when it was released. That bag I did have issues with as the canvas print actually wore off. There are pictures somewhere in the major PSM thread. LV eventually replaced it and it’s been fine ever since. I rotate through my bags pretty regularly though so to avoid major wear and tear.
It is the monogram print she is selling. I rotate through all mine too. Which is why the zipper issue might not even bother me. It won’t be used that much.
I attached a pom pom key chain to the zipper and I found it really helps with opening and closing the bag. I've never regretted my purchase and I think you'd get a lot of use out of it.
I also have the older model and it was from 2019 USA as well. No issues but I am careful about the lip when opening and closing though. If u do have issues wit it later on, I suspect LV will replace it with the newer models.

I love the old version. I had bought the new version and had so many issues that I just ended up selling it and buying a preloved old version. So far no issues other than canvas is misshaped ontop from storage. Any tips on how to fix it?

The quality of the new bags is absolutely horrible. I had two replaced before finally switching to the reverse which had no issues despite being made in the US. The first bag I had was made in Spain and the canvas felt horrible and honestly looked it. The logo on the front black tab was nonexistent. (Not to mention both mono psm had peeling from light use within ONE WEEK) The second bag has literally glue that kept coming out from the sticking where the zipper and front tiny zipper was. Even the SA was shocked about the quality and mentioned the reverse being better in quality. I ended up purchasing a preloved mono psm made in France from 2016 that has no zipper issues or peeling. The difference in canvas is insane on a made in france vs USA/Spain bag.
