Pairing onyx with carnelian?

Hi ladies.

I have been thinking back and forth between onyx or carnelian vintage Alhambra bracelet and I just cannot decide. :(

I only have a modest collection of VCA which includes vintage onyx and a wild card which is the lucky Alhambra bracelet which I absolutely adore. :D.

I think if I get the onyx bracelet it will match nicely with onyx earring but somehow the onyx bracelet doesn’t excite me as much as the carnelian.

Do you think the carnelian bracelet still look good with onyx earrings? Or will I just looking weird.

I think Onyx with Carnelian is one of the most gorgeous Alhambra pairings. Go with what truly excites you. If the carnelian is what makes your heart sing, absolutely get it! The carnelian 5 motif is stunning and I am planning to add it myself to wear with my onyx bracelet and pendant. It would pair beautifully with your current pieces, IMO!

We are lucky twins. I would get Carnelian bracelet as it can layer with lucky. I love love the lucky paired with matching Alhambra from one of the charms. It’s versatile enough that the onyx earrings will complete very nicely.

Of your two choices, I would get the oynx bracelet. It would make an awesome set with your earrings, so gorgeous. I love sets, and I think they add polish to any casual outfit.

For me, certain stones mix well, but not all. Carnelian and oynx is not something I would personally pair together. At it's core, it's putting together red and black (with YG), and that is not a color combo I like. That's just me of course, and jewelry is 100% preference.

If you plan to wear the new bracelet with your earrings AND stack the new bracelet with your Lucky bracelet...
If it were me, I would get a YG MOP bracelet.
For your earrings... I think MOP and oynx are beautiful together (look at your photo and stare at the oynx motif and the MOP motif... so gorgeous together). You could wear the oynx earrings and MOP bracelet, a cool black and white combo!
For your Lucky bracelet.. I think MOP pops, and all the white MOP will highlight the colors in your Lucky bracelet. I think an all oynx bracelet, while lovely, is a dark bold look and will take away from the bright colors of the Lucky bracelet if you decide to stack it (imagine 5 white MOP motifs next to your Lucky, now imagine 5 black oynx motifs next to your Lucky). I would keep the Lucky bracelet theme white, light, bright and happy, hence I would chose YG MOP.

It's all preference on what you like. My thought is if you don't think it looks good and have to ask for "confirmation" to get enabled, it probably is not your first choice, so I would go with what you truly love, regardless of what we think.

Thanks for the feedback. I think the carnelian 5 motif is so gorgeous by itself. It’s strange because carnelian earrings did not excite me but the bracelet did. There was just something magical about the bracelet and how it highlightthe translucent stone while the earrings did not.

Hurray for lucky. I just love love love this bracelet. There something pleasant about seeing all the motif in one bracelet and all the different stones.

Thank you so much for your in depth analysis. This is why I love the lucky bracelet so much. It really does pair well with everything. You presented to me with another delicious dilemma :biggrin: but you are right. My first choice is the onyx bracelet

I actually don’t because I like to wear either with one dangling motif or I twist it. This is so I can connect them to make a choker necklace. I know of people who actually lengthen it for this very reason.
