Owners of Covered giant hardware

I might be a wee bit paranoid, but i've just bought a GCH - if you look at the covered hardware, are there like fine lines on the sides of each knob?

hohoho ya each knob is covered with a lot of lines. The pattern of the lines are different on each knob, just like thumbprints.

I've seen a couple of posts about the durability of GCH, as in, of the leather coverings on the hardware themselves. Of course I had just put in an order for a GCH Weekender... now I'm a wee bit anxious... should I have gone for the nekkid hardware instead? (My first Bbag purchase, by the way... soooooo excited)

I'm using my GCH city today and just had a look. There are fine sort of creases whee tge leather was kind of gathered to fit around the hardware but nothing else. I have to admit that when I bought this bag I was nervous but so far so good - I gave used it 15 times (I have a spreadsheet and know for sure!) and it still looks perfect.

i have a question too... could a ggh city bag have the same style number (115748 3444) as the regular hardware city bags?? i've seen 2 different giant city bags with this serial number on the back of the leather tag... one with sgh and one with ggh... does this mean they are fake???
