overseas hermes purchase, do u keep the box?

This only attracts unwanted attention from Customs. In my country, Customs is pretty lax about ladies carrying huge shopping bags without declaring the contents, but one never knows, since by law, one is supposed to declare new items above a few hundred dollars. I usually snip off all price tags from new clothes and any other new purchases before packing everything in my suitcases. If necessary, I BUY additional suitcases to hold all my stuff. I don't want to be stopped by Customs and found to have evaded declaration.

i was going back to HongKong, so its ok for me to lug back as many bags as i want because HK is a tax-free country.

however, if i was going back to singapore - i wldnt do the same. a friend informed me that there is a cap allowance of SGD$300 per person before it is taxable.
