I hope I am posting this in the right place. I apologize if I am not. I was in the MK outlet near me today for the first time (I had no idea it existed). I was asking the SA about one of the bags because I didn't recognize the style. I asked if the bags were made exclusively for the outlet (which I assumed based on the styles), but he then made a point of saying they are the same leather and quality of the bags in the boutique stores. And the bags at the outlet seemed to be fairly pricey.

Do the outlets just carry different styles, same quality? I am trying to figure out why I would pay $360 for an outlet bag when I could get a bag on sale for less at the boutique. I am so confused.

From what I've read on here, the outlet bags are made for factory (MFF) and there are differences. Some posters have argued that there is a difference in quality but I do not know firsthand. I love and have the full price Hamilton satchel and the outlet version doesn't have a lock and key, just a name plate where the lock would be. It's also larger than the E/W but not quite as large as the N/S. The linings are also different.
I only briefly looked around the MK outlet near me and this was before I knew there was a difference in those bags and full price bags, but I'm almost positive they had full price bags there as well at the same price that you would pay at the boutique. There's another thread about outlet bags though:

I bought a bag in the outlet around march and had a problem with it so I returned it in November and got store credit. I bought the outlet version of the large vanilla Hamilton and in December the stitches on my buckle started to get ripped so I went to the outlet but they don't have the same vanilla Hamilton there, only the smaller version of it so I will wait until it arrives and get it then. It's frasterating that I paid 299 (after tax) and I had this problem after only a month.

I'm sorry to hear that. I just recently bought an outlet Hamilton but got it at tj maxx for $199 but now I'm afraid this will happen and I'm tempted to return it ImageUploadedByPurseForum1390809136.751650.jpg

No problem here with many outlet bags. I have full price and outlet and my bags they are similar quality. The outlet bags do go on sale and I can get some great bags there for 50%. Sometimes you can get 50 + 20% off. (around the Holidays) I purchased Selma and Lock and Key Hamiltons really low at the outlet.

Keep the outlet in mind and visit often if you can. It pays off.

So the stitching won't go bad ?

My sister brought me a very pretty snakeskin print bag at the outlet it was bad quality the inside of lining ripped put glue on it but still bad .I also brought a wallet at the full price store the buckle came off had to glue it.I have other purses brought in full price store no problems.

I've got 12 of the outlet version of the Hamilton and I have never had a problem. I switch bags every couple of days, but I am always using one or another every single day. I even have a couple that I've owned for 2+ years still are in great shape with no issues.
