Thanks Sarajane, SM is a 3 hour drive. However Bicester is a 2 hour drive, I'll try to convince DH that there is loads to see there. Oxford off course! How exciting!
I live in (well just outside) Brighton and Bicester is definitely the easier of the two from here so I would say go there. Also, there are loads of things for DH to buy at Bicester too so you shouldn't have such a hard time persuading him to take a trip there.
