Out of stock online

So, today I ordered an item online and it went through and then I get an email saying it was not in stock online and they were going to have it shipped from a store. Has anyone had experience with this? Did it turn out ok? Usually, if something is out I just see it say "out of stock online" and it won't let you order.

Yes, I ordered a DBTY necklace and it was sold out online but they found it in a store in NJ (I'm in PA). It was a smooth process.
