Hello everyone. Owing to both my frustration with other designers and my desire for the perfect leather hobo bag, plus the awesome sale that Dooney is having, I ordered the Florentine Twist Strap Hobo. The only negative is that it's on pre-order.

Congratulations. It's a beautiful handbag. What color did you order?Hello everyone. I ordered it in Natural. I'm excited because I have been wanting a hobo bag for at least 10 years but could never find the right one. The ones I looked at were either too big, too small, too flimsy, too expensive- you name it. For whatever reason, Dooney was not on my radar at the time. I didn't. know anyone who owned a Dooney, so I didn't know how good they are. I was floored when browsing their website and seeing so many bags. I especially love that they have their classic designs that are permanent.Congratulations. It's a beautiful handbag. What color did you order?
From the videos I watched on YouTube, it is gorgeous. The leather looks fabulous. It’s a really beautiful bag.
I am new to dooney Florentine leather this year and it was love at first sight, feel, and smell. The quality of the leather is second to none. These Florentine bags will last a lifetime and STILL look good. Let us know how you like it when it arrives. From the videos I watched on YouTube, it is gorgeous. The leather looks fabulous.
I will, thanks. I wonder if Dooney and Bourke's quality is equal to higher-end luxury? This will be interesting to find out.I am new to dooney Florentine leather this year and it was love at first sight, feel, and smell. The quality of the leather is second to none. I'm looking forward to finding out. This year I bought some stuff from Love41. They do full grain leather goods. I got two backpacks, a tote bag, and some small leather goods, and the quality is great. As for Dooney and Bourke, I keep hearing about how great their quality is, as well. I can't wait to see how it compares to Louis Vuitton.Let us know what you think. I have NO high end luxury bags yet… I need to get at least one right?!

Thank you. I share your thoughts on comparing brands. I just watched a video in which a woman who has high-end luxury bags bought a Dooney and Bourke domed satchel and said that the quality is every bit as good as Chanel.I think of quality of a handbag in terms of the leather and the construction.
Design plays a part in terms of quality of finishing and detail. By all those
measures, I think Dooney ranks very high among contemporary brands and
can hold it's own against some of the luxury brands too.
Like many brands, Dooney offers a range of collections, in different materials
(different leathers, and some canvas and nylon). The Florentine leather and
Alto lines are their top collections. The All Weather Leather line is also
one of their better collections. Many other Dooney collections are also excellent.
And from what I see on YT, Dooney
has consistently higher quality than some of the luxury brands in recent years.
When doing comparisons, I think it's only fair to compare like things....
leather bags to leather bags, canvas bags to canvas bags, etc.
Dooney even uses real (14K) gold plating on the hardware on many of their collections.
Even some high end luxury brands have dropped that. And you hear
far less about hardware issues on Dooney bags than on some high end brands.
Another consideration for me is the 'finishing' details of a bag. I'm seeing a lot
of 'artisanal' full grain leather bags these days. And lots of people are
enamored and collecting them. But.... when I look at them, they are not well
finished, in my opinion. These brands have raw edges exposed on the seams.
The leather may be soft and appealing, but with not much use, those raw edges
will begin to look very worn, I'm afraid. That doesn't appeal to me and isn't
the mark of quality or luxury, in my opinion. Dooney handbags are always
well finished.... from seams to strap attachments to handles to trim.
I hope you love your new Dooney.
