Plastic on handles doesn't always mean fake. Sometimes the stores--in this case Jomashop--have put the plastic on so that it protects the bag during shipping. I've seen spy bags, authentic ones, come with plastic on the handles. This is so that in storage/shipping, the braided handles don't rub together and or cause any damage.

I really, really, hate to do this but I've read so many threads on here that say if the handles are covered in plastic the bags a fake from the far east I do so hope that's wrong and your bag is the genuine article - either way nice bag chick.

The plastic is one of the ways they make sure you dont use it and then return it. If the plastic is off - they are not taking it back.
