“Order by Phone” on Website meaning

Why do some items on the website say “Order by Phone” whereas other products are available to “Add to Bag” right away? What’s the difference? I’ve been wanting to get the onyx 5-motif bracelet, but wondering which route to go and if there’s a difference in how long the wait would be to receive.

In my experience in Canada, order by phone means it is not available.

If an item is showing order by phone only, the customer rep can check which store(s) has the item available.

Oh, okay. When I was in-store, they didn't have any in stock, but they said they could order it anyway so I wasn't sure if it made a difference to order through an SA or online/phone.

I was also told by the e-boutique US VCA 800 number that sometimes they place items as order by phone if they only have a few left in stock.
