Hello! Long time lurker; first time poster here so I hope I post correctly. I recently purchased an Hermès shawl 140cm, pre-owned (from NYC) and it arrived in this box. (Scissors added for scale!)

Last week I purchased online a brand new Hermès shawl 140cm online and it arrived in this very different box.

I was disappointed. This box is chunky and the shawl didn't fit the box (the edge of the shawl had to be curled up a bit - nothing too dramatic but it wasn't the right box for the shawl). I felt disappointed as I expected to receive the shawl in what I believed was a "scarf box" ie flat and thin. Am I mistaken believing that shawls would be sent in these flat, thin boxes? I phoned the customer service person and she told me that the packaging changes frequently and it depends on what's available at the time at the dispatch centre in the south of France. She was sorry I was disappointed and said she would pass on my opinion that the shawl didn't really fit the box properly. I am just letting it all go but as a member of this great forum, I thought I'd ask if anyone else has bought a new shawl in this larger box?

Just like any industry, sometimes H will run out of the correct size box and need to use a substitute. It happens.

Thanks nakedmosher2of3 - I am not usually pedantic over these things but I suddenly got it into my head that "something was wrong" and couldn't shake it! Will get on with my life now....

Try not to think about it too much. Even boxes of quota bags changes from time to time. Its normal.
