Opinions pls! Which Tiffany piece to purchase?

Ooo I can finally start my own thread!
I'm interested in your opinions girls. DH and I are off to NYC in December for NY and of course I'm planning on a trip to Tiffanys. Would like to buy something special to remember our 1st visit to NYC in 8 years (last time we were there was a surprise trip for my 25th birthday... Where have the years gone....)
Anyway, I was set on the vintage oval key with diamonds in platinum ever since I clocked that baby in Hong Kong. Does it sparkle! DH likes the look of it too I think.
Then I heard that The Bean maybe relaunched in platinum and diamonds by the end of the year!
Now I'm not sure which I'd prefer.
What do you think?
Bearing in mind 2 things:
1. DH just brought me a silver 12mm bean for our wedding anni which I love. Could I layer 2 beans?
2. A good friend of mine, who I don't get to see that much, brought a SS key in NYC for her 30th. Don't want to appear to be copying with a key purchase?

I would get they key. The beans are cute (I have two) but I think the keys are classy and more unique. Everyone seems to have a bean. Once you've seen one bean, you've seen them all, even bad replicas. I am curious though, do you know what the anticipated price point would be for the bean? My bestie is looking at buying a used gold one so I was going to tell her they might redo the platinum. But I don't want her to pass on the used one if the price point is too high...

Another reason I vote for the key...

No hint on price point lilmountaingirl. I contacted Tiffs customer service just out of interest to see if the platinum bean was still available. That was when they told me they're looking at relaunching it in next couple of months. I agree the diamond keys pretty special! Gah wish I could afford both... ;-)

I like the key best, I think it's simple and gorgeous

And now I really want it :-) ! It had slipped under my radar, but I'm thinking it would make a nice graduation gift.
