Just recently I was looking online at Gucci.com and found two bags I think are beautiful. Certainly I saw more than two bags but these two really caught my eye. One is the Leather Double Flap and the other is the Medium Classic 2 top handle.

One of the things I am thinking is there are only so many black bags one needs. One of my black bags is the Gucci Nymphea which I wouldn't even think of selling and another couple I don't want to sell. Is this too much of a good thing? Based on the quality of the Nymphea I would think either of these would be excellent but perhaps they are too much of the same. Any opinions?

One can never have too many black bags in my opinion. Both of the Gucci bags you selected are gorgeous. They are somewhat similar, yet different. The double flap is trendy, structured and classy. The classic top handle is just that...classic. No harm in owning both of them. If you have to pick one, I would suggest going into the store to try them on. According to my SA at Gucci, many of the fall bags on the website are now in transit and will be trickling into stores sporadically. I will be going to look at a few as soon as they arrive. I live for the Gucci bamboo handle.

If you don't already own the classic rounder BTH, that would be a wonderful new addition.

Weird the same bag is called the Linea P on Nordstom site and Ottilia on gucci.com.

You make very good points. I hadn't thought of it vs trendy vs classic. Having the Nymphea there are some similarities and I don't own a BTH. I think I will wait as you said until they arrive to see which I like. Problem is I will probably like both but it may be in my best interest to look to the BTH. Thank you for your thoughtful comments!

I think I have come to the same conclusion that the BTH would be a great addition for me. You are correct about the name difference. It is strange and I have never seen that before in any other brand.

The Linnea is a real "wow" of a bag. I just love the double-flap feature, and think it would be a terrific way to keep your items organized. My only concern is the metal chain strap. If the bag has any sort of weight to it (which I can imagine it would, because of those two flaps) might the chain strap dig into your shoulder? Only one way to know: you'll need to load it up with all your stuff and walk around with it for a while!

The BTH is such a classic! And the wide nylon strap looks as though it would be incredibly comfy. (I'm really into comfort these days: can you tell? :p ) This is a design that will endure forever, and as @papertiger says, it would be a significant addition to your collection. My only concern on this bag is its size: I know that you usually prefer slightly larger bags. Again, the only way to know is to try it IRL and see if it will easily hold all your essentials.

Too many black bags? Welllllll... at last count, I had six. So I'm probably not the one to ask! :graucho:

Elaine, I didn't realize you had 6 black bags! Not sure exactly how many I have so I may look through mine tomorrow to see if there is anything I don't remember! Apparently, there is no possibility to have too many black bags!

At last count I own 17 black bags. Gucci, LV, MCM, A. McQueen, Saint Laurent, A. Wang, Tom Ford, Michael Kors and Fendi so far. Surprisingly, no Chanel yet though.

Just to clarify... this includes two dressy clutch bags, one mini bag, one smallish bag, and two full-sized bags. :biggrin:
