Opinions on this Sylvie

Hi fellow purse lovers,
May I have your opinions regarding this Sylvie in watersnake. There is no doubt that I love this piece. My one concern is whether this is a "trendy" bag and hence it becomes dated.

My collection presently includes:
Soho disco in Python
Joy Boston
horse-bit jockey in python (I believe this is what it is called).

Indeed I do love exotics. I just want to make sure this particular purchase will be something I enjoy wearing years from now and will look relevant years from now.

Totally love, love, love it but I have a similar version of the new Lilith in my sights (same natural snake, but bigger with bamboo handle and suede interior). If I wanted a Sylvie I think this is the one I'd most go for, totally amazing

Thanks Papertiger, that's reassuring. Do you view this bag as a trendy piece or more of a something that will stand the test of time?

I can only say that this is in fact a variation of a vintage 1960s design, with just a few adjustments, namely making the chain hw thicker and including the alternative web-ribbon strap. If ever you (or fashion) gets bored of the ribbon strap, the original style self-strap this will just make this into a very fine classic handbag.

I have variations of all bags in your collection so I know them well, this Sylvie would be a great addition to your collection IMO, either a 'fashion piece' with the ribbon strap and bow or more formal occasion choice with the other.

I like the white cw too but high maintenance (I have enough white bags to know) the snake is still light but will age better.

Love the shape of the Sylvie - it's a beautiful classic shaped flap bag. This one in particular with exotic skin makes it a timeless piece to add to your collection.

Papertiger, I too love the white however, its too high maintenance thus, have decided against it. Thanks so much for your input because you really understand my interest in adding a fashion piece and a timeless piece in building a collection.

GhstDreamer, I agree with you the shop is just lovely. I am hoping that the exotic will add to its "timelessness."

The small Sylvie bag is on my wishlist! I have been eyeing it for a couple months. I would probably go for the black or grey one.
