Welcome to the UK.

There are 2 ways of buying jewellery. One because you value the valued named quality and design of the brand and buy the piece that makes you lose your heart (and wallet) for which you are paying a premium, and the other materials + labour.

If you really love the designs and will enjoy wearing them, fine. If you're talking value for money then maybe not.

MV is a fairly new name that promotes like a premium fashion brand. if you like the look and don't mind spending the money then fine. The whole sustainable and recycle thing irritates me - when was the last time you threw away gold or silver? Precious metal has always been recycled. I find the prices ridiculously high.

Basically, with these pieces, you are paying for a heavily promoted name, virtually weightless silver jewellery, diamond 'dust' and very little gold. The 'diamond' look is mostly illusion set and marquisette, but you will get a little sparkle.

This is nothing that you can't get from department jewellery like Pilgrim or Simply Silver for a fraction of the price. You may get CZ (also a real stone) and not a splinter of a diamond but, at the quality of the diamonds and the size, those diamonds are literally the stuff they sweep of the bench when cutting others.

They are very pretty designs but I would be wary of the fact that they are plated vermeil. Your Tiffany pieces will be solid 18k gold, so personally I would want coordinating pieces in solid gold as well. I do also think that you would be paying for a name and that these prices are inflated for plated gold. If you are not set on Monica Vinader as a brand specifically, your local jeweller might have some options in 9/14/18k gold? Or, if you would consider preowned, you can find some beautiful treasures on the secondhand market.

Thank you so much @papertiger and @Onebagtoomany  !!

I have no idea of uk brands, I thought the same for the price though! I understand better now !

If you have name, even department stores or Etsy recommendations (with a similar budget = under 500) that would be so so welcome  !!

Edit : I saw that you already recommended two, will have look now  !)

Another fun and named Italian brand I would recommend for everyday wear is Giovanni Raspini and has a very good reputation. Mostly silver and heavy on the design, but some 'Golden' and dainty pieces too. Available at its store in South Molton St. London so you can try. Look past the heavier pieces obviously.

They don't need promoting, but be aware, even Cartier has 18K pieces for under £500 https://www.cartier.com/en-gb/trinity-bracelet_cod25372685655709560.html#dept=EU_Trinity

Would I be crazy if I bought the earrings :) ? Seriously, I hate wasting money and it's not like I have tons of it to waste :), but it wouldn't make me not eat either so not an irrational purchase, and I just can't stop liking them :)

I would like to ask though how much exactly they will sparkle :) (obviously you can't give me an amount, but an idea ?)

The bracelet is definitely out though

Thank you :)

I haven’t seen these earrings but I can say I don’t find her stuff sparkles much.

I also think this is a crazy town price for vermeil. They are earrings but my friend had one of the bar bracelets and it wore after a couple years.

If you love the earrings, I don't think it's crazy for you to buy them. In my opinion it's ok to have some fun jewelry in your collection that just makes you feel good, regardless of the investment value or pedigree. Other members have explained the downsides of Monica Vinader jewelry, all true, but it's still a popular brand among those starting out. Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is known for sometimes wearing "accessible" jewelry brands, and she has been seen in several different pairs of Monica Vinader earrings, including these below from Monica Vinader's "Riva" line (the same line as those you are considering). Fwiw.

from Tatler:
The Duchess of Cambridge attended the Vogue 100: A Century of Style exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in 2016 in London in one of her favourite British jewellery designers, Monica Vinader, wearing the Riva Diamond Cluster Drop Earrings and a matching necklace.

Having lots of second thoughts about spending so much money for plated and everything you said , awaiting their arrival...
So am continuing my search, it is fun  !!!!

I'm just thinking I *should* be able to find something nice with a little sparkle with this amount or a little more, since I like really dainty so am not particularly demanding, but no luck for now
